SALINAS — An 18-year old from Soledad and two college students from Downey were identified by law enforcement authorities as the three teenagers killed in a head-on collision outside of Salinas late Sunday. The fatal crash happened just after 9 p.m. on Abbott Street south of Salinas. According to California Highway Patrol, a 21-year-old woman from South Gate was driving a Honda CR-V north on Abbott Street with two passengers. Travelling south was a Nissan Altima driven by a 20-year-old man from Soledad. For unknown reasons, the Honda passed over the solid double yellow lines into the path of the Nissan. The two vehicles collided in the southbound lane. The driver of the Honda was severely injured and the two passengers, 19-year-old Abigail Tinoco and 18-year-old Sebastian Burgos, both from Downey, were pronounced dead at the scene.
