Merry Edwards named 2026 American Wine Legend by Wine Enthusiast — Palo Alto Schools news

Merry Edwards, a pioneering winemaker in the Russian River Valley, has been named American Wine Legend of the Year by Wine Enthusiast. Merry Edwards Winery recently opened a second tasting room in Mendocino County s Anderson Valley. (Merry Edwards Winery) Edwards received the honor as part of the publication’s 2026 Wine Star Awards, an annual program that recognizes individuals and companies for their contributions to the wine and spirits industries. “We are deeply proud to see Merry recognized with this well-deserved honor,” said Nicole Carter, president of Merry Edwards Winery. “She built an exceptional winery and brand when women faced significant barriers to leadership in winemaking. Her accomplishments are remarkable and paved the way for many of us in the industry. We are honored to carry her legacy forward.” Merry Edwards Winery in Sebastopol (Merry Edwards Winery) Merry Edwards Winery One of California’s first female winemakers, Edwards began her career at Mount Eden Vineyards
