When does daylight saving time end in 2026? What Santa Cruz County residents need to know — Palo Alto Community news

Keep an eye on the time this weekend. On Sunday at 2 a.m., daylight saving time will end and clocks will fall back one hour to return to 1 a.m.  Most smartphones will automatically update to the time change, although older models may require manual adjustments. Remember to double-check analog clocks and less-modern electronic devices, such as refrigerators, televisions or car screens. The end of daylight savings time will also bring brighter mornings and earlier sunsets, meaning less daylight in the evening. In Santa Cruz, for reference, the sun will rise at 7:31 a.m. and set at 6:11 p.m on Saturday. The following day, Sunday, the sun is expected to rise at 6:32 a.m. and set at 5:10 p.m. Make sure all of your clocks reflect the time change and enjoy the extra hour of sleep.
